So today was the day that I thought might be a challenge because it’s 27 kilometres with no stops. Unless you take a detour of 4 kilometers off the Camino, but it turned out to be a really great day. The Walking surface was amazing and the weather was good, although it got a little bit warmer in the afternoon. And for the last two or three hours, I had the company of Barry from Ireland and we talked about everything and anything and that made the distance just fall away. So overall it was a great day.
At the end of the day, I checked into the Albergue Rojo Plata and got a private room in the Albergue which was just as well because I don’t know what got me that day but I suddenly felt freezing and I had to pile on lots of blankets and I slept for 12 hours solid. Whatever it was, it went overnight. So overall, a really good day. It was interesting that on Granza the first half of that walk is described as a little bit more interesting than the second half. I think it’s because the first half has a couple of bends in the road. The second half is British straight. I don’t think there was much difference other than that, but a good day overall.
