Another relatively short day for us with 16 1/2 k’s but a big sodding hill right in the middle of it. So, we started off from O Logoso again pre-dawn. A lovely start. We got down into Olveiroa, how do you pronounce this, Olveiroa and we had some breakfast there.

So that was a welcome break and then continued on towards the big hill for the day which was around Monte Aro or something and there was a cafe just before the big hill. So, we stopped there for another breakfast and then took on the hill which was again very steep but very short.

I was having a few flashbacks because this was the hill three years ago where I injured my legs coming down it from Santiago direction and I got shin splints from my very last few days on that walk. But a very steep up and a very steep down, and we were heading towards Casa Pepa at Santa Mariña.

There’s a couple of places to stay at Santa Mariña. There’s an albergue just before the village, coming from the Muxia-Fisterra direction and then there is Casa Pepa, which has an albergue and some private rooms and a bar. It is crazy busy though. The bar runs from eight in the morning to eight at night. Not only the people who are staying there but people passing through go in there.
So again, not a restful place but a welcome stopping point with some decent food and not a bad room. So, the end of another great day.
