Camino ‘Moments’

23rd of May – My Mojo is back!

23rd of May – My Mojo is back!

I’ve tried to take it easy today to give my legs a bit of a break so it’s been slow and easy. And of course more chances to reflect. At lunch yesterday in Leon, I was sharing some Camino stories with three other guys that I have met off and on over the last couple of weeks. And we all came to the conclusion that sharing these stories with someone who hasn’t walked the Camino, who hasn’t gone through the physical, emotional and spiritual journey, is sometimes very difficult.

26th of May – Cruz de Ferro

After a very pleasant walk up from Foncebadón in chill morning air, I reached the Cruz de Ferro before the main crowds, which was nice. There were a few people there but it wasn’t too noisy. I was already prepared for the fact that the atmosphere around the cross would not be quite like that of a church. When visiting the Cruz de Ferro, you really need to shut out what others are doing around you and perhaps some of the noise.

3rd of June – 3 More Days to Go | Palas de Rei to Melide

3rd of June – 3 More Days to Go | Palas de Rei to Melide

I left this morning at 7:45 and the weather is starting to change. It’s quite overcast and very humid. So I expect we might get some light rain later in the day. Just as I was leaving Palas de Rei, I bumped into an old friend, Bob from the US. It’s always nice to see familiar faces along the journey. That’s why I tend to sit and have breakfast right on the Camino, to see who’s coming through.
