So today was a rest day in Salamanca. I had been to the city before but Pat hasn’t and we’ve both fallen in love with Salamanca. It’s such a beautiful place. In fact, we think we might want to come back here and stay for two or three weeks. We had a fairly relaxed day.

Day 10 - Rest Day at Salamanca - breakfast

We had a nice breakfast near the hotel and then we wandered down to look at the cathedral, which is in two parts. There is the new cathedral, which is still 600 years old and is kind of the front of the building, and then the old cathedral at the back, which is about 700 or 800 years old.

And then we went to look at the old Roman bridge down on the river. Then came back and looked at the House of Shells, which is quite interesting, built by a professor at Salamanca University many hundreds of years ago.

And then pretty much the rest of the day was relaxing and buying our bus tickets to go to Zamora tomorrow. So tomorrow we get the bus to Zamora, and then we get the train to Ourense, and then we start walking the final hundred kilometers of the Camino Sanabres.
