Tips on Walking with Achilles Tendonitis – Camino de Santiago

by | Jul 16, 2020 | 0 comments

Before my 1st Camino in 2015 I overtrained, and developed Achilles Tendonitis.

I could barely walk a week prior to my camino.

So my doctor arranged Cortisone shots right int the tendons.

I walked slowly, with care, and found my limit was about 20 kms per day.

But I made it!   This is Day 4 on that first Camino.

Yes I know.  Most people reach Zubiri on 2 days LOL

But I had to start slow and easy………

Oh, under my Doctors careful advice, I also took painkillers and anti inflammatories every 4 hours during the day.  So 2 or 3 doses.   I can clearly say, that the painkillers lasted 3 1/2 hours!  Dang!
