So, having got our first Camino completed before heading off to Muxia, we spent some time in the cathedral, went down into the crypt, walked up and hugged the Apostle and all the things that we do.

And then it was time to walk down to the bus station to catch the bus to Muxia. This was a Monbus, which we had booked online. I have to say the online booking system is quite confusing. I mean, it’s my failing for not speaking a better Spanish but unlike most websites, this one didn’t auto-translate and I ended up cancelling one set of tickets and having to rebook them because I wasn’t sure what the buttons were. But anyway, we made it down to the bus station well in time. It’s all very efficient with the different platform numbers up.
Along with lots of others, we were anxiously waiting to see the 11:05 for Muxia come up and it came up at about 11. So, if you’re waiting for a particular bus and you’re worried that it isn’t shown on the departure board, sometimes they can be last-minute. The bus trip was quite pleasant, as always with Alsa and Monbus and any of these bus companies, they are all very professional, very comfortable buses and we had a good drive out to Muxia.

I had sent a message to our accommodation saying that we would arrive at about 1:00 even though check-in wasn’t until 3. They said that if our room was ready they’d let us in and they did which was great and we spoiled ourselves a bit with a studio apartment overlooking the harbor.

I’d stayed there before and we really enjoyed it. It’s very central with a great view. So once we settled in, we took a walk out to the chapel on the rocks but it was very windy and quite cold and so we didn’t hang around too much.

We had lunch at A Furna, which had been recommended to us, and that was a really excellent lunch. We spent the afternoon relaxing a bit, walking about town, and then had a small dinner at A Marina later in the evening, which was also very good. Then it was a question of getting packed and ready for yet another early start on the first day of our second Camino which is going to be from Muxia to Fisterra to Santiago.
