Day 7 on the Via de la Plata. It’s 20.7 kms from Monesterio to Fuente de Cantos. A comfortable distance for me.
It was also my first day at leaving much earlier. I mean early ‘pre-dawn’. I thought I might not find any breakfast, always a risk with a very early start, but just as I was leaving town I found somewhere open.
And today, I finally meet some other pilgrims! They are leaving before dawn, that’s why I’ve been missing them. I met up with a guy from Ireland and we swapped information about lodgings. He hasn’t booked anywhere so might try where I’m staying. I offer him a spare bed in case he can’t find anything. But he does.
I ended up with a 2 bedroom apartment! Check out the video below.
And right outside my window I get to see the local kids rehearsing for Semana Santa. Another great day on the VdlP!
