Do you need to speak Spanish to walk a Camino in Spain?

Yes and No.  On the Camino Frances, not really.  They are used to hundreds of thousands of International Pilgrims passing through every year.  But it’s still nice if you can speak a few words.

On the more remote routes in Spain, I’m told it is much more useful!

Thank You Jose for your wonderful lessons.  He would make me call him by phone to make an accommodation booking and then ask me to spell my name and my email address!   And of course, he taught me how to call and apologise if we were going to be a bit late.  Very important.
