How Much to Budget when Walking the Camino<\/h2>\n

This is a bit of a complex question and depends on a few things.<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Which route you are walking, as the more popular ones can be a bit more expensive.<\/li>\n
  2. How far you plan to walk.\u00a0 More days = more cost obviously.<\/li>\n
  3. What type of accommodation you would like to use.<\/li>\n
  4. What type of food you plan to eat.\u00a0 Cooking your own meals v restaurant meals.<\/li>\n
  5. And incidentals such as coffees, snacks, SIM data and so on.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The Main Camino Budget Items<\/h2>\n

    I won’t include costs for getting to the Camino, as that will vary depending on where you live!<\/p>\n

    But this is a spreadsheet that I created some time ago, and you can download it under tools and update it as required.\u00a0 The “unit costs” on the left are all per person.<\/p>\n

    Down below, I’ll include the original video explaining how it all works.<\/p>\n

    But in this image, I have updated all the costs based on my Camino in 2023.<\/p>\n

    Basically, on the spreadsheet that you can download (link below) you just need to update the estimated Camino days, exchange rate, and current unit costs as shown here and then select the % of Albergues, Pilgrim dinners and simple lunches.\u00a0 Only enter number in the yellow boxes.\u00a0 Everything else is calculated for you.\u00a0 example, if you select 90% Albergues, then 10% will be costed as Hotel.\u00a0 If you select 90% as Pilgrim Menu Dinners, then 10% will be selected as a la carte.\u00a0 90% as simple lunch, then 10% will be Menu del Dia.\u00a0 \u00a0Tip!\u00a0 \u00a0You don’t need a Pilgrim Menu and a Menu del Dia on the same day.\u00a0 Both big Meals.\u00a0 \u00a0I should really update this spreadsheet with a dinner option being a snack\/tapas.\u00a0 \u00a0But you get the Idea.\u00a0 \u00a0You could make that change yourself.\u00a0 \u00a0Just change Dinner a la Carte to snack dinner for example and maybe put 8 euros.<\/p>\n
