We’re quite surprised on this route, the sort of inclines and declines. So, in Cea we managed to find, which was an interesting little place actually. I thought it was a town, it’s more of a village. And a lot of the places, it’s very steep hills actually within the village. And we managed to find a little cafe down at the bottom of the village where we got some breakfast, some scrambled eggs.

And then we forgot to get a stamp. So, we found another cafe as we were leaving the village and had a coffee there. And it was already quite a hard walk by the time we got to Cea, but then of course we had 8 ½ k’s still to go up to Oseira. I think my distance planning has been a little bit off on this Camino because I’m really not allowing for all of the ups and downs.

That 18 1/2 km from Cea to Oseira felt like 25 to be honest. Some very steep inclines going up to Oseira. Wonderful scenery, great views but quite hard. And then eventually we went up to the monastery. We decided not to stay in the monastery albergue but in the little bed and breakfast opposite. And we had some really good food there and then did a monastery tour in the evening. So, another long day, very tiring but very satisfying.

So we started out in the rain from Tamallancos and it was an interesting walk, lots of up and downs.
