{"id":843,"date":"2015-05-14T07:39:25","date_gmt":"2015-05-14T07:39:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/robscamino.com\/?p=843"},"modified":"2018-04-17T09:45:47","modified_gmt":"2018-04-16T23:45:47","slug":"14th-of-may-the-start-of-the-meseta-walking-to-hornillos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/robscamino.com\/2015\/14th-of-may-the-start-of-the-meseta-walking-to-hornillos\/","title":{"rendered":"14th of May &#8211; The start of the Meseta &#8211; Walking to Hornillos"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>From Burgos to Hornillos on the Meseta<\/h1>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Today is the first of 3 days crossing the <em>meseta<\/em>, a high featureless area with little shade.<\/p>\n<p>Thankfully the temperature has dropped a little bit which will make the walk a bit easier.<\/p>\n<p>I look forward to getting out of <a href=\"https:\/\/robscamino.com\/2015\/13th-of-may-a-day-off-in-burgos\/\" target=\"_blank\">Burgos<\/a>, and back into the open countryside.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1735\" src=\"https:\/\/robscamino.com\/2015\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Burgos-to-Hornillos-1.jpg\" alt=\"Walking from Burgos to Hornillos\" width=\"450\" height=\"800\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This morning I\u2019m walking alone, and I think I\u2019ll walk alone for the rest of the day. Today I feel like another day full of reflection, rather than company.<\/p>\n<p>My stop for this evening is <em><strong>Hornillos<\/strong><\/em>, where I&#8217;ve \u00a0managed to secure a bed in a <em>casa rural<\/em>. I\u2019m expecting to find a very small village, as there only appears to be a casa rural and a couple of a<em>lbergues<\/em>\u00a0in the village.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today is the first of 3 days crossing the meseta, a high featureless area with little shade.
