En Route to the Camino de Santiago<\/h1>\n

The first part of the journey has started and my route takes me from Sydney to Dubai with a three-hour stopover, and then Dubai to Paris.<\/p>\n

This was the first time I’ve been on an Airbus A380 and I was a bit worried that my backpack would be too large to fit in the overhead lockers, but as the picture will show, an Osprey Stratos 34 does fit in the overhead locker.<\/p>\n

I was very lucky to get a points Business Class upgrade on Qantas for this first leg and that made sleeping a lot easier because it was a 15-hour sector and I think I managed to sleep for 5 or 6 hours.<\/p>\n

During the stopover in Dubai, we were able to use the Emirates Lounge.<\/p>\n

As you can see, Mr. Bean, my travelling companion, kept an eye on the backpack whilst I manage to grab a quick meal.<\/p>\n

Our arrival in Paris was fairly uneventful and working on advice gained from the Camino forum, I looked out for the number 4 Air France bus which would take me to Gare Montparnasse<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n

That was a very easy trip. The hotel that I had booked for my overnight stay to get over jet lag was a short 600-meter walk from the station.\u00a0 Ideal for an early start the next day, on the final stage to my Camino start point.<\/p>\n
