{"id":194,"date":"2015-04-29T08:43:12","date_gmt":"2015-04-29T08:43:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/robscamino.com\/?p=194"},"modified":"2021-03-31T17:17:02","modified_gmt":"2021-03-31T06:17:02","slug":"29th-of-april-its-all-about-the-journey","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/robscamino.com\/2015\/29th-of-april-its-all-about-the-journey\/","title":{"rendered":"29th of April &#8211; It&#8217;s all about the Journey"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>The Camino is all about the Journey<\/h1>\n<p>It&#8217;s interesting how priorities change.<\/p>\n<p>Six months ago, the <em>Camino<\/em> to me was all about getting time away from work, time to think, time to chill out, and it was all about <a href=\"https:\/\/robscamino.com\/2015\/28th-of-april-its-raining\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">walking from <em><strong>Saint Jean Pied de Port to Santiago<\/strong><\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>But since I injured my ankles and the likelihood of me getting all the way to Santiago was diminishing, I found my priorities were actually changing.<\/p>\n<p>Even before I got to the Camino, my objective was really <em>to enjoy the experience, to enjoy the journey, it was no longer about the destination<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>As I set out today on my second day of walking, my major concern is still whether my feet will hold up, and whether I will be able to continue on this journey.<\/p>\n<p>It is absolutely no longer about reaching Santiago and obtaining a Compostela. It&#8217;s actually about being on the journey for as long as I can, to experience all aspects of the journey.<\/p>\n<p>And it was interesting yesterday in my discussion with Father Bart over lunch, we talked\u00a0about the whole experience being the journey and not the destination.<\/p>\n<p>I just hope this journey is as long as I planned it to be and isn&#8217;t cut short.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s interesting how priorities change.
