{"id":1563,"date":"2015-08-07T15:44:38","date_gmt":"2015-08-07T05:44:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/robscamino.com\/?p=1563"},"modified":"2025-03-26T18:14:56","modified_gmt":"2025-03-26T07:14:56","slug":"sim-cards-for-your-camino","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/robscamino.com\/2015\/sim-cards-for-your-camino\/","title":{"rendered":"SIM Cards for your Camino"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hi,<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve had a few questions related to SIM cards.\u00a0 So this was my experience based on walking the Camino Frances in 2015 (From St Jean).<\/p>\n<p>I pre purchased SIM cards for France and Spain. \u00a0I didn&#8217;t want to wait until hitting the first major town before being able to get a SIM card.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The French SIM I used for a few days in France and in St Jean.\u00a0 Then swapped over to the Spanish SIM when I got to Roncesvalles.\u00a0 Both SIM&#8217;s worked well.\u00a0\u00a0 Both included voice and data.<\/p>\n<p>The French one I bought from:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.lefrenchmobile.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Le French Mobile<\/a><\/p>\n<p>and the Spanish one from: SimCardSpain<\/p>\n<p>I ordered these before I left Australia, and they just arrived in time.\u00a0 Took 7-10 days.\u00a0 I would use both these companies again.<\/p>\n<p>It took me a while to work out how to &#8216;recharge&#8217; the Spanish one&#8230;.\u00a0 I used a lot of data uploading videos to my blog, calling my wife on Skype etc.\u00a0 Most small shops do the recharge!\u00a0\u00a0 Just ask for<em><strong> &#8216;Telefono Recarga&#8217;<\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0\u00a0 Hand over 5e 10e or whatever you need and tell them the network you are using.\u00a0 I used Vodafone.\u00a0 They will do the recharge and you&#8217;ll get a text message telling you the recharge amount and how much credit you have remaining.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve had a few questions related to SIM cards.
