After the Camino is Finished?

I rather suspect that this is where the hard work starts.  Putting those life lessons into practice.

These thoughts were recorded about 10 days after reaching Santiago de Compostela, having walked the Camino Frances for 40 days.

I enjoyed listening to these two videos Rob, well reasoned reflections and lessons learned which will hopefully see you lead the future life you desire for yourself, family, work colleagues and clients. Again, extremely well done on your Camino, I know it was difficult physically and emotionally at times – but you ‘won through’ and that’s what counts.

Hi Jose. No ‘Camera’ as such. I used a phone. Galaxy Note 3. Next year I want to create another video but much higher quality, so I’m looking around for a very Compact camera that will take an external mic, flip screen etc. I had two main issues with these videos in 2015. Wind noise and camera shake. Where possible I used a trekking pole or fence post to steady the camera (phone) using a piece of waistband elastic to hold it in place.

I suspect next year, I’ll also use a phone. Galaxy Note 8 or iPhone 8. They are almost as good as a compact camera. But….I’ll take an external mic to cut out wind noise and a mini tripod. I’ll try to minimise hand held footage.

I use semi pro video cameras (Canon XA20 & XA30) to make blog videos at work, and also use a mirrorless camera (Olympus OMD5) for interviews, but a phone is still a great backup for impromptu interviews and quick blog videos. I’m just a very amateur videographer! More of a hobby/interest born of necessity. If I want to make lots of blog videos for my business……..I have to shoot them myself..

But…I think it will be a phone again for 2018. Weight and convenience are the main benefits.
